2 Slight Problems

Hello Folks 2 quick questions if anyone can help.

 

I have an 03 banshee, I adjusted the chain because it seemed too loose about 3 weeks ago, now when i hit a jump the back end makes a cluncking sound, this wasn't happening before, is it possible that the chain is still too loose or could this be because perhaps i didn't adjust the tighteners evenly?

 

Another thing, I've just bought some durablue 1.5" wheel spacers for the front end, if anyone reading this has them or any comments i'd love to hear, they come with longers studs then the stockers, but they are kind of loose in the hubs and i can't find the same stud as the stocker in longer form, i've been to UAP and the stock banshee hub stud is the exact same as the one off a Geo metro.. problem is they dont make a longer one.. anyone out there have any solutions, or else im selling these bad boys and taking a bigtime loss.

front wheel spacers are a bad idea, expecially since you said you jump. The put excessive pressure on the spindles and rod ends and can cause suff to break up front, which is bad!

Aw hell,

Run the spacers if thats what makes you happy. If you don't like how they ride, take em' off. If you are running spacers I will assume you still have stock a-arms. If you haven't bent your stock a-arms yet, you are not jumping high/hard enoudg to do any damage. You will bend your shock/a-arms long before you break a spindle.

As for the klunking sound, my guess is that you have chain skipping problem.

get a clymer's manual and follow the directions for the proper chain tentioning procedure. It is a difficult system to guess about.

I know front wheel spacers are kind of a cheap fix.. if they're a fix at all.. I just dont currently have the money to upgrade the front end.. Im not hitting any jumps too big.. but i was wondering how the stock a-arms and shocks would hold up with them in. you gave me a bit of insight there,
