Basicorpse Posted May 20, 2004 Report Posted May 20, 2004 So my shift shift was leaking oil so I think ok no big deal I'll just replace the seal and everything will be fine.. nope still leaked. Then I went out and bought a new shift shaft and another new seal. After replacing the shift shaft and the shifter seal the thing still leaks! It is leaking from the inside of the seal where the shaft goes through. It is not leaking from where the seal meets the case. I have a bran new shaft and seal it should not be leaking... My machine has me so frustrated right now I am thinking about selling it please help me! Quote
BenBB Posted May 20, 2004 Report Posted May 20, 2004 What kind of tranny oil are you using? Might need to switch to a Bel-Ray Gearsaver or Honda gear oil in the 70W or 80W range... Quote

BenBB Posted May 20, 2004 Report Posted May 20, 2004 That sucks. You might need to try a seal with a smaller ID. The stock seal size should be 10x22x7 (ID x OD x CC, in mm). You could try to find a 9x22x7 seal and try that... Quote

sredish Posted May 20, 2004 Report Posted May 20, 2004 Probably not, you could try a tractor service shop, or a bearings specialist shop. We have a shop close by that specializes in bearings and seals. They have everything I need. Quote
