Tranny Shaft Swap! Ok?

Hey guys,first time on,I hope you can help.I was told you can answer everything there is 'bout banshees.I have a bad output shaft in my '87 'shee .I have a chance to get one from an'01.Will this work in my existing tranny.I hope so!!!! thanks
