Holyman Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 First of all I'd like to Thank those of you who sent your kickers to me to rebuild. I have gotten a lot of good info on how to do it right and hopefully I can offer my services on eBay to help pay for doing this for very low cost for HQ members. I've had several generous people pay a little extra to go toward the next guys kicker which shows the kind of place BHQ really is. We may not see eye to eye on everything but we all support the sport of ATVing and the little squabbles we may have about other stuff is just seasoning on the steak That being said I'd like anyone who has had me re-do a kicker sign in here and let me know how long you have used it and how it has worked for you. I have probably done about a dozen but the problem is I rarely get the BHQ name to go with the name on the package so I really don't know who is who. I also want to let Denny Schwartz and D Sumpter know that your kickers are in the mail. The last few kickers I have sent out have a short piece of black anodized ball chain attached and an extra Stainless allen screw. I'd like to know if you guys are using it or just cutting it off. This chain can be attached to the engine case by removing and replacing the screw just to the left of the dipstick. In the event that the lower bolt comes out of the kicker, the chain should keep you from losing the kicker all together. And since used kickers are going for around $50 I figure something to keep from losing the kicker is worth it. The ends are stainless and the chain is aluminum and anodized so it should look good for quite a while. Anyways... looking forward to hearing from you guys. Thanks Quote
boonman Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 You did mine for me, and I haven't even taken it out of the package yet.... So, I guess it's been working fine!!!! Seriously though, I haven't even looked at it. it is on the kitchen table now. Getting ever closer to making onto the shee!!!! Quote
BenBB Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Got mine back around mid-January, one TT & two desert races later, along with Roostfest and it's still working perfectly. I shoulda had you do it two years ago. Hopefully you were able to do something with the worn-out extra I sent. Thanks again, excellent work!!! Quote
Holyman Posted May 15, 2004 Author Report Posted May 15, 2004 Yeah I've been practicing on that one. That has got to be the most worn kicker I've ever seen. Quote
2004LEBanshee Posted May 15, 2004 Report Posted May 15, 2004 I got mine about 2 weeks ago and it has the chain attachment. But I havent hooked the chain up yet. Tomarrow will be my first ride with the new kicker. I started it once, when I first got it and it stays in place well and there is no more rattle. Thank god!!!!!! I didn't hook the chain up because I thought it would make a rattling noise. But I will try to hook it up before I ride tomarrow and I will give a report when I get back. Quote
dnhyoung Posted May 15, 2004 Report Posted May 15, 2004 I've had mine back for a couple of weeks now, and have been riding a couple of times. I am completely thrilled by the fact that I don't have to pry my kicker out to start my bike and that I also don't miss that annoying rattle. I appecaite you sharing your expetise. Thanks, Dan P.S. I think that by losing the rattle I might of picked up a few HP...LOL Quote
2004LEBanshee Posted May 15, 2004 Report Posted May 15, 2004 Yeah mine wouldn't stay in it was flapping out all of the time casuing wind resistance killing my ET. Quote
