SyNtAxx Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Hello, hey guys ive got a 96 shee it is still all stock While I never owned a stock shee...I hear they can be turds.... so I cant tell you how it should compare to the 300ex. If I were you and you had some extra cash to spend...Find your self a nice set of pipes...get rid of the crappy stock airfilter and get a Proflow adaptor with your choice of either a K&N or foam filter....then smoke his ass.....(after you have properly jetted) As for the back firing and such, I would look for a few things... 1) Is your air filter clean ? 2) How is your jetting ? 3) Overly rich fuel mix ? 4) Carbs..are they in Sync? 5) What color are your plugs ? That will indicate the condition of your engine (rich lean) Ride hard and remeber this....any banshee is better than a honda Nick Quote
1 bad shee Posted May 13, 2004 Author Report Posted May 13, 2004 ok my plug was black and wet i switched to belray mc-1 50:1 today also...not sure if that would have caused it or not?,,,let me now Quote
SyNtAxx Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Hello, Black and wet would indicate an over all rich mixture. What were you mixing at before ? 32:1 is probably the most common ratio. You can mix higher than that, just make sure teh oil is formulated to do so.. The mix ratio will play somewhat on your jetting.... i would look into it before damage is done. Nick Quote
nickxc Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 sounds like youve got a carb issue. take them off take them all apart and clean everything. put them back together and sinc them. clean your air filter and you should be ok. Id be caucious running 50:1 thats not much oil. I had stock shees and there is no way it should loose to a 300ex. I cant even believe its true. My buddies blaster with nothing but a fmf fatty pipe on it and it smoked another kids 300ex. My banshee dosn't even need 5th gear to walk that blaster so something is wrong. get in those carbs and see I bet there full of shit. Quote
1 bad shee Posted May 13, 2004 Author Report Posted May 13, 2004 ok im goin out now to check the carbs thanks Quote
