coolhead03 Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 Riding a wheelie yesterday in 2nd, in a pebbly grassy field, like a big shot i tried to keep it up all the way across and went up all the way. I droped off the back, the shee hit the grab bar came back down and proceded to to keep going. So I got to get up and chase the thing down in Oneal elements, It got about 25-30 yds before i caught it because I was expecting/hoping it would stall. I got to ride the rest of the night with dark brown smudged acoss my back. I still feel like a jackass. Quote

smokin350 Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 i can ride 2nd threw 5th, 6th sometimes gets a little scary at 65-70 mph!! its all about the balance!!!!! Quote
coolhead03 Posted June 28, 2004 Author Report Posted June 28, 2004 (edited) Damn smokin how the hell do you keep balance in a powerband while shifting. I always stay in the same gear i started the wheelie in. Mine will pull them up in 5th, I almost think its easier to ride them the faster your going. when i dumped it i was in 2nd i think, I was trying to keep it at the balance point, I should have just hung on for the ride but i freaked out for some reason and let go. have'nt dumped it since, and im much more comfy on 2 wheels now. smokin350 Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 i just start in 2nd and go through the gears when it comes up to far i shift it drops for a mili sec and go back to the balance point once in 5th i just kinda balance it between 11&12 oclock. you"ll get it it only took me three grab bars 2 sets of toomeys and know no grab bar cause i cracked the weld on the 1 side. pratice!!!!!! 2Smoker Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 It takes some serious skill to wheelie a banshee any distance especially on dirt. I find if I'm in any gear below third it just spins out. On pavement its a different story, but I have only had my shee a month and I'm still getting used to the powerband. In first and second on pavement its like "zip" and its up in a split second. Normally I just pull it up for a few seconds and come down. I don't want to be starting a new thread on the rides of shame section anytime soon you know... Quote
jadaven Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 Yeah, I know what ya mean on tryin to get usd to the powerband it is still a challange for me. Ive almost dumped it countless times but i never have done it in a wheelie on the shee. On my Craptor its a different story. The first time i got to 4th in it i went back on the grab bar and onto my a$$. It rolled like 3 times and when I got up the tire was off the rim, both left arms were bent, handlebars bent, grab bar looked like a taco. Plus lots of road rash but oh well still got the shee, now i can get plenty of practice doin wheelies on it. Quote
QuadMX Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 I'm pretty good at wheelies on my shee. I've been practicing quite a lot lately. I'll pull it up in 1st gear without the front tires even moving the slightest bit and ride it through 6th (granted I have enough room). I've even sat on the bars and wheelied already. Do some heelclickers while in mid-wheelie...Crazy stuff like that. Just gotta get used to your machine and where the power goes. Quote
