PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted April 20, 2004 Report Posted April 20, 2004 I ride in Iowa and they sell gas with ethanol in it mostly 89 octane. I always run 91 or higher but lately I have been seeing ethanol in that too. I was told that ethanol would ruin my motor so I'm a little worried that sometime when I have someone else pick up gas for me that they might get the ethanol mixed gas instead. Will ethanol really ruin my motor? I was told running ethanol is like running without oil. But I know some of you run alcohol, methanol so is it a problem? MotulMonsta Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 Ethenol isn't good on your motor if your not set up to run it. It's like buying 87 octane fuel then adding octane booster to it so it won't knock. It's junky fuel. Quote
