well my friend sent his cylinder sand head into a machine shop today for boring. he wasnt sure about the head milling but i told him to. the guy that wons the place has banshee and i asked him to mill it down .030 and he said it was too much and it would be on race gas but whatever. anyways he seemed stubborn about it so i elected that he go and mill it .010 down because thats what he did to his banshee. even though this is not that much you think it will make any difference powerwise? the head is stock except i somewhat polished the domes but thats nothing.

I shaved my head .030" at my school's machine shop and the shee runs fine on 93 octane.

Obviously shaving it .010" will not have that big of a differnce as shaving it .030"

If you shave the head .010" you change the chamber volume by about 0.52cc

shaving it .030" the chamber volume will change by about 1.56cc

I could figure the change in compression ratio but need to get some shut-eye.

Mine has been shaved .040" and I run on the crappy ass stuff that the peoples repblic of California call high octain pump gas (91 octane), and I have no problems. Also, I am running at sea level in 65-90 degree temps (Glamis winters). Shaving .010" off is not going to do much for you. If a shop told me that going .030" off was too much for a Banshee on pump gas, and that he recomends only going .010", I would take my bike and run. I wouldn't let someone with that little knowledge work on mine.
