joehead24 Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 what is a stock 2001's compression ratio? what grade gas can i run? (midgrade, premium, etc) what is the best oil and mix ratio to use? any help is appreciated Quote
ledofthezep Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 Stock should be around 130psi. I would recommend only running Premium, 91+ octane Break-in: book says 24:1, 32:1 would be just fine on a stock bike. I've always mixed mine, even when stock at 40:1. Hope this helps. And welcome to the HQ. Quote
CoopBanshee Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 I just got my banshee a month ago. At first I ran 24:1 like the manual says but it made me foul 2 plugs. I thought I bought a lemon, but after I switched to 32:1 (4 ounces per gallon) it runs perfect. Does anyone know a website to buy Yamalube cheap? Quote
joehead24 Posted April 14, 2004 Author Report Posted April 14, 2004 i've heard that yamalube isn't a very good oil is that true? Quote
banshees and beers Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Yamalube has done me just fine. But asking which oil is better is like asking which one is better coke or pepsi is better? Quote
nickxc Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 your gunna get 100 different replies on which oil is better. I run amsoil series 2000 but any good oil will be just fine. Quote
