FoxBansheeRacing Posted April 11, 2004 Report Posted April 11, 2004 I finally got around to fixing my clutch problem and got in there and found the rod and ball are fine, it was just a bad clutch cable. So we were putting it back together and decided to torque the pressure plate at 10lbs because we thought thats what my old raptor's was supposed to be. Got 3 of them done, and snapped the head off the 4th. I already have new bolts ordered but now I need to know what they should be torqued at?? My second question is about my shocks. I seem to be able to wiggle them a little bit. I know I cant do this with shocks on an other quad, is that just how Elka's are? Its nothing huge, just a little wiggle and I would just rather not have a shock fall off or something like that. Quote
FORMULASPEED Posted April 11, 2004 Report Posted April 11, 2004 7.4 lbs on the clutch spring bolts. Quote
BrokeStonedBiker Posted April 11, 2004 Report Posted April 11, 2004 my tourque wrench doesnt go to 7.4 ft./lbs i will go 7.5 and hopfully nothin bad will happen. yeah 10lbs is a little too much Quote
Rescuejeff Posted April 11, 2004 Report Posted April 11, 2004 Shock if rubber mounted or have machined pieces placed in it to help let them move when you compress them has you ride, they should move some, but if they are moving alot and maybe they need to have new bushings pressed in to keep the movement down some, or just run it.
