a6079c Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 i removed my flywheel, installed a 3 degree alba key then re-installed the flywheel to 59 lbs. i started my shee and it runs great (stronger than ever) but now has a funny growl coming from the flywheel area. the growl can only be heard at idle. i dont know if i am just hearing things being over cautious because of new mod. can removing the flywheel mess with the main bearings? or will the degree cause any noise? i need advise because i am headed to dumont in the morning. i hope i didnt screw something up, the sound might just be the engine working and i never noticed it. there is no new vibration. SDD Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Take the side cover off and make sure there is nothing in there that shouldn't be. Since you took the MAGNETIC flywheel off sometimes it will suck up things like washers or small bolts and screws. If you didn't notice it when you put it back on it could be spinning inside the flywheel tearing things up. The key itself could have fallen out of the notch when you slid the flywheel back on as well. Quote
