I got a 01 banshee the onlything i have done is i put a boostbootle on and thats it all i do is trail ride and for long periods of time don't race at all just ride trails i was wondering if bought a impellor to replace the stock on does it really work . Just trying to keep the bike cool never overheated just trying to prevent and keep the engine around for a long time. Another question if i keep the bike stock how long does a stock engine last and i don't ride everyday but when i do long periods of time like 4 hours at the most.. Would a bigger radiator be over kill???

It wouldn't hurt to add 1 aftermarket impellars/radiator...

But, it shouldn't over heat unless u let it idle for long while!

I say put a temperature guage on it first!

go to dune review.com

under photos u will see banshee temp guage!

I would post but, I'm not to computer friendly yet!

All these questions all have to do with how hard you ride. Do rip up every hill you see, are you pegged in every gear possible for long periods of time.

If you keep the bike stock and just cruise around and do your maintenance regularly, that motor could last you a long time. If I'm not mistaken I think someone on here said there wife has had her banshee for 13 years without a single rebuild. My guess is she proly does not ride it to often.

All the above are correct. the impeller is a cheap and easy upgrade that will flow more coolant through the motor and since the stocker is a cheap hunk of plastic, it's a good idea to get rid of it.

An aftmkt radiator is not a bad idea but overkill with a stock motor unless you are very hard on it in rugged hot climates.

Another thing I highly recommend is replace all the engine coolant with Engine Ice brand coolant. It runs cooler, transfers heat better and looks cool as hell in the bottle. It also runs cooler than Water Wetter.

Seriously, it will help your motor run cooler, that and an impeller and you'll drop some temps inside your motor.
