Cylce Logic Porting Templates

I am going to try Cycle Logic's Sport Port Templates,What tools do I need to port. I was thinking of using a Dremel, but what kind of Bits do I need to use. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I think you mean race logic unless someone else came out with something different. I would recommend sanding drums in 1/4 inch and 3/8 sizes. Thats what worked best for me

erbilabuc.....were those sanding drums stout enough to handle the sleeve without having to go through a large amount of them? The aluminum I can see not having any issues, but the sleeve is pretty tough stuff.....

Personally, I think a dremel runs too fast, even on the slowest speed. I use die grinders with little valves/regulators at the coupler. You should use a slower speed when working on the aluminum part of the jugs. The aluminum grinds away really easily. Faster speeds are good on the sleeves though. I'd use sanding rolls for the aluminum, unless there's a lot to take out, then I'd start with a carbide cutter to get it close and then finish up with the rolls. On the sleeves I would use a variety of stones. The stones are nice, because you can shape them with a dressing stone to get in tight spots.

the dremel brand drums suck, there are other brands like "gator" and those are really good. It took me about 10 of the 3/8 dremel drums to do one cylinder and it took me 2 of the "gators" to do the other.

 

oh and the gators are cheaper
