Good Morning, I have a question, yesterday, I was messing with the idle on my shee and then everything seemed ok, then I started to ride it hard, I let it idle for about 15 minutes afterward and came back to it and it had shot radiator fluid out, just a little bit, and I can't tell where it came from, did my shee overheat?

The only mod is a boost bottle...

DID THE SHEE OVERHEAT????

Yes the motor over heated. But if it just spit out a little water you are prolly ok. Your motor is water cooled but it does not have a radiator fan, so after you ride hard just cruse around for a minate or two keeping air flowing through the radiator. One more thing to think about doing sometime in the future is replace the water pump impeller to a billet one. The stock plastic can if got hot to many times will melt, and the motor will start to get hot all the time.

Also, don't let it sit there and idle. I've never dont that to my banshee, but I see others do it. Then when we go to ride, they boil over about 20 seconds into the ride and then they shut down. lol.....

Its just better that way.

What he said... :) Banshees don't like to sit still while running. I had the same thing happen to me a while back so I just cut it off now if I'm gonna be in one spot for more than a minute or two. Haven't had the problem since! You should be OK on the radiator fluid, unless shee dumped a lot out...A small amount of leakage won't hurt ya!! ;)

Better idea is to get a temp gauge or make one using a meat thermometer. The atv ones sell for anywhere from $30-$100 or so and will take you maybe 30 minutes to install. Meat thermometer will probably cost you about $15 + an hour to make everything and get it installed. Do a search for meat thermometer on here for a break down of what you'll need. I've got a meat thermometer on mine and I warm it up to at least 90 degrees before I ride it, then I take it easy until it hits 100, after that I can ride the hell out of it, but I still keep an eye on it, especially if I'm putting around with a bunch of 4 strokes.
