gbf4ever Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 Hey im in the process of replacing my swingarm bearings. I got the bearings and the pivot shaft in. I also put the washer and the oil seal into the dust cover. I cant seem to get the dust cover onto the swingarm. Any advice on how to do this woudl be appreciated. It seems like with the oil seal int he dust cover it is not big enough to fit around the swingarm. Quote

bignasty1 Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 doesnt it always seem to work that way. the simplist shit seems to be the biggest pain in the ass in comparison to some of the more complex shit that we gotta go threw to fix a bike. i know ur frustration i was doing mine on my z400 a while back couldnt get the axle out and threw a fit and karate kicked my handle bars and bent them but i got the damn axle out next try with no problem. but now i need handle bars. Nighty Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 maybe put the seal around the swingarm first then place the dust cover over it? crap.. i have to do it this week aswell anybody else know a good sollution? Quote
MotulMonsta Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 You have an aftermarket swingarm? I didn't have any problems when I replaced the seals on my lonestar swingarm...OEM seals(Brandnew) popped right on. Maybe your edges are beveled a bit or worn out. Quote
