frocashmoney24 Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 whats wrong just the bearing? shit u can do that urself Quote
nasty01banshee Posted March 18, 2004 Author Report Posted March 18, 2004 the large outer right one is coming apart and locked up the motor, the right rod bearing is sloppy and the rod shows heat discoloration at the journal, prolly out of my league to fix it.. Quote
909 Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 You need to either rebuild that crank or get a new hot rods crank. If you insist on running the roller bearing, invest in some straight cuts. Strokers need straight cuts AND the TZ bearing on the drive side. I would be willing to bet $$$ that the crank was out of tollerance (trued correctly) before you got it. We charge $125 labor to rebuild one, then you're looking at probably another $100 in parts for a new rod kit and bearings, then another $50 to true and weld it. Its cheaper than a new crank but not free. If you buy a new crank, invest the extra $50 for a competent shop to true and weld it. Don't trust the manufacturer! Good Luck! Quote
909 Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 The right side journal overheated for sure. Do you have a v-block and a dial indicator available to you? Quote
