hops
I'm replacing my swingarm and carrier with a +5 and a round housing carrier. So everything will be all nice and shiny, except the axle, which has become oxidized. Anyone have any suggestions how to brighten it up? I didn't want to sand it, because I believe it is steel with a Nickel coating? Thought about paint, but that wouldn't hold up to long. Suggestions please! (besides a new one, that's next year)
Brian G
Either chrome it or sand it!!! I like to take a wire wheel on a bench grinder and clean it up first. Then get a polishing wheel and polish the hell out of it!! Put it this way it does not matter if you take the coating off as long as you keep on top of it, just make sure it is clean and keep it polished with mothers or something like that. and when storing it, just wipe some oil or wd40 on it. I have done t to a couple before and iy does turn out real shiny, you will really like it!!
