midnighttoker Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 have any of you tried or heard anything about namura pistons? the guy on ebay says they are power pistons and will increase performance over a stock or Wiseco piston. the picture looks like they have a bunch of holes milled out of the side to reduce the weight or heat retention or something. any body know why they are considered "power" pistons? TheNewGuy Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 my advice, when im shopping for ANY type of things, i like to get the stuff where the name has been proven...i'd much rather have reliability for 10 years with decent power than be up at 90hp for only 2 minutes...if you're debating the brand, i'd pass it up and go with a brand that's been around and everyone knows about... and no i've never heard of those kinda pistons Mike Quote
brock_fuzzy_69 Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 http://race.atvaddiction.com/forums/showth...p?threadid=1200 a thread on another forum about them i guess they didnt have much good to say ?????? Quote
Ducman Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 Sounds like the port windows in the skirts are altered similar to Vito's power pistons which might get more power but make a weaker piston skirt and potential catastrophic failures which could wreck the bottom end as well. Quote
midnighttoker Posted March 3, 2004 Author Report Posted March 3, 2004 thanks for the info you guys probably saved me a bunch of work and $$$$$, i think ill go with some weisco pistons. unless there is a better more durable brand? Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 yea, i would go with a reputable company like weisco when it comes to something like that... Quote
boonman Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 Wiseco. Forged pistons are the only way to go. Just let the bike warm up a little before every ride, and you will not have a problem.... Quote
gomer Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 what about vertex pistons anyone ever heard anythign about htem Quote
