BdBanshee Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 I bought a LSR round housing swingarm and axle carrier off Ebay a few months ago, and I'm finally getting it ready to install. LSR says that it takes a different axle bearing than the stock bearings, and they'll sell me a kit for $105! That's not going to happen, I'll go to a bearing house and get replacement bearings if they are different. I already have new stock size bearings and seals and just wondered if anyone has run into this before? Thanks, Ron. Quote
MotulMonsta Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 Those bearings will last forever so long as you keep em clean and greased. I bought my LSR swingarm 4 years ago and have yet to replace the bearings. They are larger then stock you could go through a japanese bearing manufacture and get bearings but 105 isn't bad for the 4 bearings that are in there. Hell all the bearings that LSR uses are damn good! They last forever! I race MX so I don't treat my bearing all that nice. I replace my front hub bearings yearly and I always have spares but my swingarm has been hassle free for years along with my fron end once I got it setup right. Quote
Lepew Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 I'd check the bearing suppliers if they need replacement. Quote
BdBanshee Posted February 28, 2004 Author Report Posted February 28, 2004 From the outside they look the same diameter as the stock bearings and seals. I was just wondering if anyone had actually replaced them before on a LSR, and if they were, or weren't different. Thanks, Ron. Quote
BdBanshee Posted March 1, 2004 Author Report Posted March 1, 2004 I pressed them out today and they are stock size bearings and seals. The outer two bearings were bad so I just put all new bearings and seals in it. Probably be several years before I have to mess with it now. Quote
