I was wondering if a timing plate & a degree key do the same thing?

and if i put on a timing plate on my shee do i leave the stock degree key on?

Also can anybody tell me what size of fuel line does a shee uses?

Yes and no. They both advance your ignition timing. The difference between em is a "degree key" can only adjust the timing to a set number IE +4 advance or +7 adv. On the other hand, the "timing plate" is fully adjustable, meaning you can set your timing anywhere from -10(retard ) to +10(advance).

Yep. Leave the stock keyway in. You could use a "degree key" with a timing plate, but its not recommened. If you use a +4 degree key, and then set your "adjustable timing plate" to +6..... your timing would be advanced 10 degrees(+10).

A properly installed degree key will not shear off. The keyway only idexes the flywheel to the crankshaft. The only way a key will shear is if the flywheel shears it off..... and the only way the flywheel will shear off a key is because it was not properly installed. The flywheel nut needs to be torqued to 60 ft-lbs. The only other possible way I can think off shearin off a degree key, is if.. the key has a physical defect.

The adjustable timing plate costs like $45 and the degree key costs like $10 but the advance plate it easier to install and can be easily adjusted.
