hey guys hope someone can give me some advise. 1st off my chain is trashed and the problem i am haveing is if i clutch the bike hard it makes a horrible grawling sound this is not good. it almost sounds like the chain jumping off the sproket but it really doesnt seem to be that bad that it would do that. if any of you have seen this or have a good idea please help before i head to the shop

thank you

if you clutch it, does it go like you want, or just rev up with no more power. If your chain is that bad, quit riding, or it may pop and crack a case. Don't want that to happen, now do we? ;)

Sorry, I should've followed up rather than just telling you not to ride. Like Bensshee said, check your sprockets and stuff to see if they're still grabbing. New ones are cheap, especially from places like Rocky Mountain ATV. Like $8 for front and $14 for rear, for JT steel. Cheap. If your unsure, post a pic and let us see.

I had a similar problem. I bent all the teeth on the rear sprocket forward and the chain was jumping. Remember, if you change the chain or sprocket do all at the same time so the other components don't wear each other out.

yep, that is a very good tip. Especially if you have one really worn item and the other is new. As inexpensive as sprockets are, there is no reason not to.

im just adding to what fixitrod said. the exact same happened to me 3 weeks ago. iv had to replace the front and rear sproket. check your chain to. you must change it at the same time incase it is stretched. iv had to get a new too cos mine was streched
