2004LEBanshee Posted February 16, 2004 Report Posted February 16, 2004 I just bought a temp guage and in a circumstance that I happen to be running lean will I notice the temp really high before it blows up or will it be to late. Also what temp do you let it warm to (100)? Normal riding condition should be like (180)? and too hot (?)? And I did a little seaching before I posted this so dont get pissed if you read this and have already answered these questions some where. Thanks, Quote
boonman Posted February 16, 2004 Report Posted February 16, 2004 If you are not riding at WOT continuously, you may be able to catch it before it goes caput. THis will take careful monitoring. I would think a plug check would be in order before you start ripping around... I let mine warm up to about 120 before I ride. Remember that you are reading coolant temp. It will be delayed than what is actually seen inside the chamber. Quote
a&sbanshee Posted February 16, 2004 Report Posted February 16, 2004 yea the reading u are gettin is the coolant temp not the actually temp of the motor as for it gettin lean this shouldnt happen as the motor heats up long as u have the correct jetting and i cant tell u how important correct jettin is with this banshee but u will know when your jetting is right cuz they plugs will have a burnt brown color to them Quote
2004LEBanshee Posted February 17, 2004 Author Report Posted February 17, 2004 Is 180 a good normal riding temperature? And roughly what temp is dangerous? Quote
Lepew Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 230 your coolant will start to boil........ then melt down!!! I don't ever let mine go over 220. Quote
