q8banshee3883 Posted February 13, 2004 Author Report Posted February 13, 2004 yes i think it can clean the chrome Quote
die_infidel Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 Yes i use that simple green stuff to. I think it could work on getting that burnt rubber of pipe. I had similar problem, but i can't remember what i used. What ever it was worked great and i think it was the simple green if not it'll come to mind and i'll let ya know. Quote
pimp559 Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 If the simple green doesn't get it off you can use a razorblade. This will take it off but you gotta be a little more carful because you can scratch the pipes if you dig the razor into hard. Just do it gently and alittle at a time. Its very good for getting the heavy stuff off like burnt on plastic or rubber from riding pants. You may need to use some mother's polish to get the show shine back. Quote

pimp559 Posted February 13, 2004 Report Posted February 13, 2004 Sorry about the double post. Moderator take care of this guy. Damn newbies. Quote
94BansheeRider Posted February 14, 2004 Report Posted February 14, 2004 You can also use a very fine steel wool. Will take off the rubber, and not scratch the chrome. Quote
MILO Posted February 14, 2004 Report Posted February 14, 2004 i used never dull cleaner and polish, and fine steel wool. it took off the "mirror" finish, but they still look 10 times better after cleaning. they had splotchy minor heat marks on them that wouldn't come off otherwise. Quote
Skiddz Posted February 14, 2004 Report Posted February 14, 2004 No need to use a razor blade to get shoe funk off the pipes. Acetone, Laquer Thinner or MEK (Metyl Ethyl Ketone) will do the trick. Just make sure you wear gloves and do it in a well ventilated area. You *MAY* need a plastic paint scraper to get off the chunks as they soften up. Once the gunk is gone, grab some Mothers Metal Restorer and a soft rag and buff 'em out. To remove bluing, a product called BluBeGone will do the trick with a little elbow grease. Quote
98bonerSTOCKshee Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 Skiddz that sounds good.. Quote
grounded Posted February 20, 2004 Report Posted February 20, 2004 Use scotch brite then a metal polish to get that stuff off. Quote
eehsnab2 Posted February 20, 2004 Report Posted February 20, 2004 I say drink the scotch and use fine steel wool and simple green! Quote
