239banshee Posted February 9, 2004 Report Posted February 9, 2004 can you put a grease fitting on on rear stock carrier.if so what about that tube in the rear carrier Quote
Just for fun Posted February 10, 2004 Report Posted February 10, 2004 Holyman, what did you do with the spacer inside the axle? Did you drill holes in that or just leave it? Quote
Holyman Posted February 10, 2004 Report Posted February 10, 2004 I drilled a 1/4" hole in the inner sleeve too. Just to make sure the axle or the pivot bolt will come out later. Quote
239banshee Posted February 10, 2004 Author Report Posted February 10, 2004 so you drilled holes in both sleves for the swingarm and pivot.what bearings are good to buy for the rear axle.mine just went out.there was lots of water and rust Quote
Holyman Posted February 10, 2004 Report Posted February 10, 2004 I can get you the axle bearings but the guys on ebay are giving 'em away so cheap, I can't come close to buying 'em for what they're selling 'em for. Quote
239banshee Posted February 10, 2004 Author Report Posted February 10, 2004 ok ill buy them there.but you drilled a hole and the carrier and the sleve right? Quote
Holyman Posted February 10, 2004 Report Posted February 10, 2004 Yep just a 1/4" hole. Make sure you clean out all the shavings before you put it all back together. If you need A arm or swingarm pivot bearings, let me know. I'll hook you up. Quote
BenBB Posted February 10, 2004 Report Posted February 10, 2004 Don't forget to pry the inner seals off the bearings so the grease can get to the rollers... Quote
239banshee Posted February 10, 2004 Author Report Posted February 10, 2004 what size to drill for the fitting Quote
Holyman Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 dependson the fitting. The one on the axle I used a 1/4" bit and you just put a 1/4" socket over the grease zirk and hit it a couple times with a hammer. The angled one is threaded with a 14-28 tap. In that case, you use the drill size stated on the tap. Quote
