JohnK16 Posted January 16 Report Share Posted January 16 Rebuilt my banshee back in October 2022 with new stock crank from vito’s and 66mm wiseco pistons. Ran very well for a little over a year and probably put like 30-40 hours roughly on it of just trail riding. Long story short, left side piston ended up spinning the top ring and got caught on the exhaust port. Tore it apart and found the locating pin was sheared off, not missing but worn down / broken to the point the ring could slide around. The bottom locating pin on that same piston looks fine. The right piston didn’t have any damage but I can see the rings are worn pretty good where it hooks around the locating pin on the end gap of the ring and those locating pins are also worn down / sheared. My question is what would cause this?
