got1banshee
Well I wet sanded my gas tank cover and then cleaned it really good with very hot waterand then let it dry completly. I painted 3 really really light coats and there are some spots that are seperating, kinda like there is oil or somthing on it. But I cleaned it very good. I am using kryolan Fusion paint. What the hell do I do know? Why is it doing this?
BansheeBoy17
Maybe some oil like you said. Did you use anything to wipe off fingerprints ? I forgot what its called but it gets rid of oil and figerprints and stuff
got1banshee
No I didn't use and prepsal. the only place that is doing it is where I have a nice scratch. How should I fix it now that I have painted it? Can I just use some filler and fill in the scratches, sand, and then paint again?
Justintoxicated
probably lightly sand the whole thing and go over it with another coat. This is why plastic can be tricky to paint. Make sure your doing nice thin light coats. its likely there is a little oil etc right there so I would sand inside the scratch also. got1banshee
Right on! I will let it dry until tomorrow then wet sand some more. The rest of it looks good and shiny!
illboogie
if its separating you missed it with the sand paper you want em to look dull when yur done sanding and sand all the shiny spots you see and you can wipe it down with a tack cloth from a parts store
