Expansion Chamber On A 4 Stroke Motor?

anyone ever thought about what a 4 stroke would sound like if you somehow put a 2 stroke expansion chamber on a 4 stroke motor? How would it affect the power?

 

One more thing, could a 400ex have dual exhaust? Cause I mean it has 2 exhaust valves, so why not have dual exhaust?

1. If you want dual exhaust get the ailen system!

2. Two stroke and four stroke motors are very different in the way they make their power, a two stroke needs the expansion chamber to pull and push on the fuel mixture to get the best possable burn. If you put one on a four stroke it would probable just make it sound like crap, lose alot of back pressure and H.P.

a company called LTE I think? makes duel exaust for the slowhundred ex, rap-turd repair-us preditor and a few others...they look mean as hell, but if it's not a shee it doesn't deserve 2 pipes

yeah you can do dual exhaust on four strokes if they have dual exhaust ports...my friend did it on his ds650 and put dual GSXR silencers on it...sounded awesome, performed great, and looked sick!...and yeah the 2 stroke expansion chambers w/ a 4 stroke motor would just be bad...stick to the basic piping and use a pipe bender and do some welding...

 

there's a kid at winchester bay that shortened a cherrybomb car muffler and rigged it to his bike...it was WAAAAAAAAY over the decible limit but sounded pretty burl!

What about a 2 stroke with out a sliencer? This kid at school brought his banshee and during auto mechanics class he took the sliencers off. He said it was loud as hell and sounded cool, but I didn't hear it.

 

Does it hurt or help the power of a 4 stroke to ride with just the head pipe? I do it all the time on my crf 150 and it makes it loud as hell and seems like it revs quicker. when it idles it kinda sounds like this: pap....pap.....plap...paap....plap..pap

if you took the off a 4 stroke it would just be loud as hell, and ive seen dual exhausts on 4 strokes, they m ake look trick, but they do nothing for performanec and if i remember right there about 600 bucks

The "old HQ" forums had a topic similar to this. He knows his shit! He explained it all so well it made my head spin. I was most impressed with his explanation of the sonic wave and how it works. Everyone seems to focus on back pressure but forgets the value of the sound wave.

 

My brain is still smoking from his wisdom....
