I have a 2005 F150 that will not start when the gear is in park but if I move the shift gear around it will eventually start.   However it will start right up if I first move the gear to neutral.   Can I just drive it like that without changing the shift shaft bushings or will I end up making things worse?

Not a ford guy but... it depends on how thick & hard the bushing is. If its thin, it will start to wear into housing; eventually. If its hard it will continue to wear on the shaft, until just a new bushing wont make it tight. I would think the seal would start leaking before either of those tho...my .02

Oh, and wrong thread
