Ultimateduner Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 Some how I got a virus last week. Ever since then I have been fighting against it. I guess it is called spyware. But this isn't no ordinary virus it takes over your entire computer!! A couple of days ago I tried going on bansheehq it forwarded me to it's page and tried to force me to download it. It made 10-20 shotguns nosies at full blast and moved the cd drive in and out continueily. At the same time it repeated over and over again to download it or else. This of course scared the sh*t out of me. Within the next several minutes it took over my internet and my progam designed to remove viruses. It took me a 1/2 hour to finally get my firewall up. I thought I got rid of it till the next morning when it again locked up the internet. So every few hour i have to delete more of it so I can use my computer. But today just when I thought I had gotten rid of it, it locked up my whole computer as well as my virus scan. I think it will be gone till tomarro morniong anyone have any idea how to get rid of it completly?? Quote
Banshee crazy kid Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 Damn that is serious sounds more like hackers, anyway this should hlp u out if there are hackers, viruses, popup downloads,ect.... When i called HP ( the pc company) they talked me through how to get it back up and running, also my pc came with a restore disc, it deletes anything that didnt come with the pc. Or u can have it restore what u want it to. Quote
Ultimateduner Posted December 16, 2003 Author Report Posted December 16, 2003 Thats exactally what I have they locked up the virus scan, so that when i click on it I won't come up. So I tried going to the security center and updating it but then a shotgun nosie came on and restricted me from doing that. Eventually I found to get to it and stop it temporarily Quote
STLBILL Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 Hi UltimateDuner: It seems strange such an undesirable application has not made the news. I have to wonder if someone is targeting you specifically. This lends itself to the hacker or more likely a friend or family member screwing with you. Regards, Bill Quote
Justintoxicated Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 sounds mroe like a script, with a trojan added. maybe a backdoor? Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 ive heard of something like that , but the shotgun noises are new to me, sounds like some seroius shit, what kind of virus protection do you run Quote
Ultimateduner Posted December 16, 2003 Author Report Posted December 16, 2003 I dunno Maybe someone is targeting us!! My sister just received a virus this morning. Although it is not similar to mine. Quote
Justintoxicated Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 if you keep your system patched its alot less likely you will be vulernable to worms. Viruses you normally have to execute yourself, and are found through trojans, which are programs that are not what they appear to be. I went to that same website myself with the shotgun blast thing before, it poped up a bunch of windows n stuff, but it did not infect my computer. It really sounds more like a script made to annoy you than anything, but its possible you could have had a virus or something before hand. In order for a virus to infect your system you either have to execute it or be vulnerable. It amazes me sometimes that old worms are still spreading even though the exploit patches have been out for years. Run a virus scanner, Im guessing it left a trojan in your cash. A firewall isnt going to solve anything if its already on your computer or is attacking you or if it is attacking through, 8000 the http port. Quote
jumpman23 Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 Wasup UltimateDuner! I currently work at this Antivirus company and I will attach a link for you to go to. It will scan your computer to see if you're vulnerable for attacks and if you have any viruses. Afterwards you should go buy Norton Utilities at your local electronic store like Circuit City. If you have any questions let me know. http://www.symantec.com/cgi-bin/securitycheck.cgi Quote
