97bansheeboy Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 Hey guys, I just recently bought a 97banshee and I love the thing to death! However, i went out in the last snow storm with some Mcreary Trail breaker tires which kinda look like they would suck in the snow and have very hard rubber. I ran them with almost no air in them on the road(and a few inches of snow of course) and I couldnt accelerate to save my life!! once i got moving i was ok, but hills and acceleration were a big problem. I was wondering if anyone has ridden their banshee on the roads in the snow and how they went with different tires on. My two friends were riding 300ex's with razrs and shredders and i couldn't keep up!! will different tires make a difference(without studding)?! Help me out guys. Quote
boonman Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 in the snow it is tough to find traction. Especially on the road..... I used paddles on trails when I had the snomoshee out... Quote
BansheeBrian Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 Realtors work pretty decent.Your best traction is when the plowdrivers go back to the town garage to fill the hipflasks and you have about 2+ inches on the roads to work with. Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 yea if your in deep snow run dune tires, but ive hear of some tires called 4snow and i hear they do pretty good, maybe some deep tred mud tires will work to Quote
99Red_Roostr Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 I run PaddleMasters in the snow, very very rugged tire that takes tons of abuse, and wheelie in snow!!! Also good in sand , mud and gravel. Its the ticket!! 99rr Quote
sandman121383 Posted December 12, 2003 Report Posted December 12, 2003 hey i recently bought a rear wheelset with realters on them. im not even running them reverse tread and i got around real good for only weighing like 150lbs . . .they throw ALOT of snow too haha. other than aggressive tires get urself a passenger and u should go newhere . have fun in the snow man! i kno i did . . .while it lasted Quote
