Key Switch Wiring Help '87

So I have an 87, and I replaced the key switch, the new one isnt wired correctly, it has the correct 4 pin plug on it, but when the key is turned on, only two of the pins go 'live/short' and I need all 4 to go 'live/short'

 

Any ideas? The bike will pop but not start with the new key switch, if I jump the remaining two pins with a wire itll run as normal, but the key wont shut it off.

I got tired of dealing with the key switch, so I  ended up bypassing it with the adapter from south Texas banshee, it plugs into your harness. I have an 01, but I believe he makes one for your year as well, one less thing to worry about.
