erbilabuc Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 uhmm i dont think you can do it at all Quote
boonman Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 Now, once you get the spindle off, you have to remove the A-arm from the frame. If it is the lower arm, nevermind, either arm you will have to remove the lower shock bolt, so go ahead and do that. Now, remove whichever arm it is that has the bad ball joint, and put a new a-arm on it. because that's the only way to replace a ball joint. is with a new Arm..... Quote
89 bansheedude Posted December 9, 2003 Author Report Posted December 9, 2003 well i thought you could replace them, there on my denton racing arms, which are older ones. i dont know what to do now. i guess i will have to save up and buy 4 new arms. but thats alot of money that i dont have right now. jayare Quote
boonman Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 ahh shit man. You didn't say you had non-stock A-arms. That is kind of pertinant information to the question, don't ya think? Those may be replaceable. how about a pic? I don't know about Denton's off hand. But, a pic we could tell..... Quote
89 bansheedude Posted December 9, 2003 Author Report Posted December 9, 2003 i dont have any pics of them or nor can i get any of them anytime soon but here is the website, www.dentonracing.com Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 most of the ones i know of, you take off a locknut, then just unscrew the ball joint, get a new one put it in, put the nut back on and your on your way Quote
boonman Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 It loks as though they are replaceable. All the arms on the site look that way, except the rec arms i couldn't tell from the pic. But my guess is they would be. Quote
Cotton eyed Joe Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 Just from what I've seen, the marketing geniouses Yamaha have the only non replaceable ball joint. Like Boon said, you should just be able to screw it out, screw a new one back in tighten the lock nut and get it ready for alignment. Quote
