BEBOGIS Posted December 8, 2003 Author Report Posted December 8, 2003 I am trying to replace my 4mm stroker crank with a 7mm. My engine runs with the stock head and I am using methanol, so I was thinking if I use a 7mm short rod my porting would be alost the same on the cylinders and head, but I do not know. any help? Quote
fixitrod Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 Well, why would you ask me that lmfao It was kind of a joke... my names Rod. .... ah, nevermind Anyway, as far as going from a 4mm to a 7mm. That will add 1.5mm in each direction to the stroke. To use a long rod you'd need to use long rod pistons and to use standard length rods on a 7mm I think will have to much of an angle. I think a 7mm should have long rods. With that said, you'll need to get your porting done to match the 7mm and another 1.5mm taken out of the head. Does that help answer what you're looking for. If not, please specify a little more. Quote
