Dragg-on Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 left the petcock valve on off, and find out when youre 1/2 way down the track? can this be harmfull to your motor? seize it maybe? Quote
NYUK Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 sure it can seize it.by shutting the petcock off your creating a little lean condition.no fuel all air. Quote
flea49 Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 Yep i done it once, and the enemy done it to me once. Quote
boonman Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 At high RPM, shutting off the fuel supply, while keeping the air supply open can be DETRIMENTAL to your engine. This would be the eqivalent of a massive air leak. If the motor is hot enough, it may stay running just long enough for damage to occur. (Like melted piston(s) and/or siezure). Quote
badcompany Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 I used to do it all the time, it sucked when thats why u get beat Quote
Dragg-on Posted December 9, 2003 Author Report Posted December 9, 2003 Ive been lucky manu times then, I would rev even higher to try and keep it alive, but every time it happend, compression didnt change. Quote
shift350 Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 it's even worse when you have the fuel on but you dont have any in the tank...lol...not that i would know or anything Quote
