I agree, but all the "practice" motion in the world isn't the same as time with tool in hand. I'm far from experienced, and still learning. My approach from the get go was be prepared to fuck something up to figure something out.

I'm well aware of the difference between a triple, and single exhaust. Not sure if that was directed towards me, or your telling Slow the difference between stock, and driveline?

by 'going through the motions' I meant doing practice port jobs on unusable cylinders. jump in head first for all I care. aint my cylinders lol

when someone says they got it all figured out, and in the same thread, asks how much the timing will change with a 2mm spacer....... I just shake my head

I gotts ta go fellers. best of luck

I get what your saying. I agree the spacer plate isn't ideal....by any means. Don't take me as the I've got shit figured out type. I'm not him lol. I wasn't trying to sound like that if I did. Learning every time I get a chance.

I don't have shit figured out! If so i wouldnt kep making these threads lol.

But I CAN tell you it is much easier to lift the barrel than it is to raise all the transfer ports. I believe it was graham or maybe bell that recommended this for the novice DIY porter

I have some 18CC small bore race gas domes laying around, I wonder if they will still work with this crank as long as I raise the cylinder...? Hmm

You're hell bent on using a spacer plate aren't you. I say do it however you see fit, and safe. Start a thread, and pics when you do. Once you're ported/plated up. Degree it out once more, and have domes cut to those specs.....be like $70-$80.

And for the record, this is not my first set of jugs I've cut on. I've ported 2 LT80 jugs, about 5 blaster jugs, and one other set of banshee jugs.

I'm not gonna say I didn't fuck up about 2 of those, lol. But it's because I got in a hurry. Not because of lack of knowledge. I try to research and make a plan before I start cutting

I use cc specialty right angle and straight pieces, nothing wrong with starting out pneumatic I did and there cheap 80-100 . The benefits of the cc tools is you can get forward and reverse bits to eliminate chatter in certain spots and more low speed torque control with the foot pedal imo

I use a ccspecialty 182 mc right angle. Like $360-370. Far cheaper options, but I like it.
