Banshee SE Posted September 13, 2016 Report Posted September 13, 2016 I have a set of cylinders that apparently somebody was practicing how to port and get screw one of them. Both cylinders were in good and clean until whoever did this mess touch them. Actual bore 63.84mm. What you guy thing do they worth something? I put a tie wrap to show the wrong thing with the cylinder, there a hole inside out that clearly the cylinder will have a compression leak. Any shop that could fix it, does it really worth the job? Is it an expensive job? Please any help will be appreciate it. TIA. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
sheerider11 Posted September 13, 2016 Report Posted September 13, 2016 Totally fixable. Just not cheap. They are going to have to weld it up and port it. Need to find a shop willing to take it on. Quote

registered user Posted September 14, 2016 Report Posted September 14, 2016 your not mechanically inclined I take it. clean the area alittle with a dremel if you have one. if not no big deal. put piece of tape on back side of hole, mix alittle jb weld with screw driver or something and fill up the hole, done. local machine shop would probly weld it free if they already have their tig machined fired up Quote
Banshee SE Posted September 14, 2016 Author Report Posted September 14, 2016 Thanks guys but I decide to sell them as they are so if anyone is interested send me a pm. Quote
sleeper06 Posted September 15, 2016 Report Posted September 15, 2016 I always use marine-tek grey , it's good with all fuels . Clean area with carbide burr everywhere, wash with hot soapy , wipe with ascetone . Then rite before I I'm ready to apply I heat area up with a heat gun to open pores and apply Quote
sleeper06 Posted September 15, 2016 Report Posted September 15, 2016 I can try n tig it but I think you're creating a bigger problem depending on how thin the wall is before you bite in Quote
Banshee SE Posted September 15, 2016 Author Report Posted September 15, 2016 Anybody interested on them I'll let them go for cheap. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
registered user Posted September 16, 2016 Report Posted September 16, 2016 that could be welded easy. do it quick and dont pour a ton of heat to it any longer than necesarry or the casting pulls away from the sleeve and you risk warping the thin area of the gasket surface. between 5-10sec and it be good to go Quote

"Easy" must have a different meaning in Illinois? IPS.......For all you're welding needs! UN-FUCKING REAL!... 1 Quote
