ZILLAKILLA Posted September 9, 2016 Report Posted September 9, 2016 I am getting ready to tear down the bottom end because of a supposed bad crank seal. (Smoking a ton out the right side exhaust) question one is that the most likely culprit and should the rod crank bearings also get done? I'm having the crank tried and welded also. What else while I'm in there if anything. Thanks for help. Quote
Bennett131 Posted September 9, 2016 Report Posted September 9, 2016 If you're splitting the cases and you haven't already had it done, have someone cut your trans. Pro mod ftw! Quote
sheerider11 Posted September 10, 2016 Report Posted September 10, 2016 Pro mod like said Order a FAST bottom end rebuild. Whoever trues and welds that crank should check the bearings. You can upgrade them if you please. Maybe some straight cuts. How old are your wear items? Pressure plate, basket, hub, clutch plates, cable, shift shaft, shift forks? Pancake bearing? Water pump? Tans bearings? It can get tedious very quickly in there.it all depends how deep you want to go and you time and budget. Quote
