Miss firing right cylinder

Recommended Posts

Hey guys my right cylinder is missfireing and is running weak,

Ive made sure its not,

The plugs

The tors

Plug caps

Compressions good

And ive ive tryed to swap everything to get to the problem to switch cylinders to figure it out but it bustin my balls. Must have taken this shees carbs of 20 LITERALY in the last couple days.

She runs okay up in the rpms, but dont low and in mid throttle she hicups pretty bad anddosent run as strong as the left cylinder.

Thanks for any help this site has helped me alot in the past.

Ive swaped the plug caps though and nothing happens. Dosent that rule that out ?

NOPE !! Banshee uses a wasted spark ignition. Both plugs fire at same time, twice per revolution. As mentioned check pickup gap, if more than few thousands different LIGHTLY sand high one down to make more even. Make sure both are rust free. No goop or oil on pickup coil.

May have to remove flywheel and check for rust on stator poles/inside flywheel.

Just so everything is clear, the right cylindrs is running weaker and it hicups a little bit on my shee. It did it awile a then it went away. And now that cylinders running werid again and its not going away,

I have tryed:;

Swaping plugs

Plug wires

Carb floats

Tors and unpluged it

Synced carbs with windows on the side

Made sure they open at the same time

Ive swaped everything from one carb to the other multiple times,

This is blowin me,

Thanks for any input.

What exactly did you swap from one to the other,

Jets, float & valve ok to swap.

Bowls & slides swapping will make it worse.

Make sure there is no leaks between the carby and cylinder. Beg, borrow, or steal a leak down kit.

when you do that it will also check confirm the integrity of your crank seals.

Or you could make a kit & have it for future jobs.

Yesi just changes jets and floats ect,

I know not to swap slides, the litle shiny mark that u line up with the windows on the carbs wont match cuz there on different sides of the slide.

And ive been thinking about a leak down test, ima look up how to make on and see if i can throw it togeather

Ive alos check compression

117psi each cylinder.

All stock shee by the way

PS, what different anout float bowls.

The left bowl has the pick up for the choke the right does not. the right carby gets its fuel from the left via that cross over hose. (the short hose between the carbys inline with the choke knob) make sure that h0se is on properly & has no cracks or splits.
