Hatfield1415 Posted May 2, 2016 Report Posted May 2, 2016 The head is milled down an unknown amount. The left side piston has a ring mark in the carbon buildup, maybe from the dome? The head looks fine but the spark plug on that side keeps backing out. I've tried 222 loctite with same results. Starts and runs great,I'm getting some roughness around the edge of the pistons.i probably just need to run higher than 91 to get rid of detonation. Quote
sheerider11 Posted May 2, 2016 Report Posted May 2, 2016 Wow. You seriously tried to locate tite the plugs in? What's your compression at least? Quote
Hatfield1415 Posted May 2, 2016 Author Report Posted May 2, 2016 Well it was at the dunes and I needed something to work for the time being with the loctite. The compression is around 170. Quote

Hatfield1415 Posted May 2, 2016 Author Report Posted May 2, 2016 I imagine the cool heads are the way to go? Quote
Bennett131 Posted May 2, 2016 Report Posted May 2, 2016 Sounds like deto. I would tear into it and have your crank gone over by someone reputable. Get another head (depending on your budget) a cool head or an uncut stocker. May as well freshen up the top end while you're there. Quote
sheerider11 Posted May 2, 2016 Report Posted May 2, 2016 I imagine the cool heads are the way to go?if you want. They never hurt. And it's nice to have the ability to change domes. Quote
Hatfield1415 Posted May 2, 2016 Author Report Posted May 2, 2016 I appreciate the help guys. This is my first banshee. I've only had Hondas before this. I'll get a cool head and start running 100LL AVGAS. Will that need a different plug? Quote

sleeper06 Posted May 2, 2016 Report Posted May 2, 2016 Chances are it's not angle milled so look into an air leak on that side also before teardown . 100 octane will be fine as long as your squish is above .045 Quote
Hatfield1415 Posted May 2, 2016 Author Report Posted May 2, 2016 Alright I will look. Just bought this about a week ago so the mods are foreign to me. Thanks. Quote
