antd913 Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 Hello all, new to HQ, Here is my dilemma . I baught a 2000 banshee it has tores removed , toommy t5 pipes , New pwk flat slide carbs , new carbon fiber reeds . fresh top end 120 comp per cylinder . seems to have ok blue spark . when I try to start it , it fires for 2 seconds and will stall right out . if I try to give it any throttle it will bog right out immediately. I have fuel flow to carbs .my question is could the stator be crapping out ? Or possibly cdi ? I have done the ohms tests on the stator and the coil and they are both within spec . I have also ran individually grouded wires from the frame to the cdi , coil , head to eliminate a grounding problem,I have nobody with a banshee that I could part swap with . so before I empty my wallet on electrical parts any feedback would be greatly apreciated . thank you Anthony Quote

Larry's Shee Posted February 29, 2016 Report Posted February 29, 2016 Check all connections are clean and tite. Clean nubs on flywheel, set gap. Trim 1/4 from plug wires install caps. Ohmed coil and caps separately? Tors/parking brake disco'd? Unplug kill and bypass key switch. Quote
antd913 Posted February 29, 2016 Author Report Posted February 29, 2016 Tores and parking are gone , ohmed tested everything .everything is within spec and everything is clean , pickup gap is good ,only thing I havnt done yet is pull the harness off and go through it with a fine tooth comb . to me my spark looks week , spark is blue but it's not fat blue like everyone says it should look . I'm personally thinking stator is on its way out or possibly cdi ......this is driving me nuts lol Quote
