Boring Cylinder And Port/polishing

Howdy all!

 

Im thinking of punching out my stock cylinders to the next size up. Will I be able to use my cool heads after doing this or will I have to go an alternate route. After doing some research, I wish I would have bought some Noss heads. For now, I have these.

 

Also, I was talking to a machine shop near me about porting and polishing. He suggested not doing this because you want turbulance so it atomizes the fuel better. Any suggestions on this or thoughts?

You dont want to polish transfers or intakes or rear boost ports...smooth with slight texture, but not poilished. Exhaust ports can be polished but dont waste your life so you can see your face in them...you'll gain nothing, but they should be glossy in appearance. As for porting...there is NO substitute if done properly...Jim
