doug Posted May 16, 2015 Report Posted May 16, 2015 Hi Guys, I'm not getting any spark on my Banshee. I've read through and followed the banshee electrical guide, but had a couple of questions: 1. Does the TORS system eliminate spark? (I wondering if I can disconnect the TORS wiring to see if something TORS related is causing the problem) 2. Does anyone know what the resistance should be on the Orange and Black wires that go to the coil? I've tried my friends coil, spark plug boots, cdi, etc., and tested the stator and nothing fixes the issue. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Doug. Quote

wayne_smith97 Posted May 16, 2015 Report Posted May 16, 2015 Unplug the tors box under the tank and try again. Then check the parking brake wire Quote
lil Doobie420 Posted May 16, 2015 Report Posted May 16, 2015 Also check the pick up.and pick up gap. Quote
doug Posted May 16, 2015 Author Report Posted May 16, 2015 Yes, that is the link guide I followed. Will try unplugging the TORS. I guess it does kill spark to accomplish it's job? Will look at the pick up & it's gap. Thanks! Quote
98_sheester Posted May 16, 2015 Report Posted May 16, 2015 Tors is simply the Throttle Over Ride System doesnt really effect the spark but it does cause the issue your having so unplug it from the carbs and from park brake it should kick over Quote
uman1030 Posted May 16, 2015 Report Posted May 16, 2015 Tors is simply the Throttle Over Ride System doesnt really effect the spark but it does cause the issue your having so unplug it from the carbs and from park brake it should kick over It KILLS the spark when the thumb throttle position is at rest and the carburator slides are not in an idle position "sensing a stuck slide condition". This malfuncions commonly when none or part of the TORS system has been removed. Unplugging the TORS brain will eliminate this issue even if the physical TORS system is still intact. Quote
doug Posted May 16, 2015 Author Report Posted May 16, 2015 Unplugging the TORS box did it! Yahoo! I have spark!!! Does this mean that the TORS box is fried? Do I need to replace it? (I don't want to do the TORS removal yet) Quote

(I don't want to do the TORS removal yet) Just leave it unplugged. I would recommend doing the tors removal. There's nothing to it. Quote

2STROKIN_IT Posted May 17, 2015 Report Posted May 17, 2015 I agree REMOVE THAT CRAP!!!! It's really cheap, it's saves you headaches and it cleans up the engine compartment.. Given you don't take any "beer" breaks it should take less than 2 hours max to remove tors and clean your carbs up real nice. I say about $60 for complete tors removal kit with drill bit and tap!!! Do it Quote
