My spark plugs keep fouling, i dont know what to do, im a rookie on this stuff and only just 2 weeks ago my right side was fouling plugs, now today the left side spark plug fouled. One spark plug has oil on the threads and the other has changed colour on the tip. Im lost on what to do to avoid it fouling. Ive replaced like maybe 4 sets of spark plugs now in the matter of 3 weeks since ive got it! Below is a pic of the plugs. Please someone help me out. I've checked the plugs they are fine, the cylinders and air filters are fine too. Any help would be helpful. Oh and Im now running 40:1 ratio, before was running 36:1, also with fuchs engine oil. Thanks!

1) What jetting are you running

2) What are all mods to the quad?

3) Are you running fuchs engine oil in your gas?

Thanks for your reply ZillaFreak,

1) I have no idea what jetting im running, but i guess the jetting is the amount of needle turns on the carb right?

2) Mods are: Tomey T5 exhaust, F.A.S.T racing cyclinder head, Keihin Carbs, VFORCE 3 thingy that the air filter connects to at the end and K&N air filters.

3) Nope running it in the transmission. In my gas im mixing yamalube oil, first i mixed at 36:1 in 5 gallons which is 17.78 ounces then I changed to 40:1 in 5 gallons which is 16 ounces. Then i fill up the tank.

The jetting is more than just.

It is main jet size, pilot jet size, needle, needle position, air screw turns.

What size carbs and style keihin carbs do you have?

Main jet size is #155 and Pilot #48

Keihin Carburetor PWK28 - Banshee

I've also got several other carb sizes too

1. Pull the carbs, take the bowls off and see what your main jet and pilot jet are. If your really feeling inquisitive pull the slide and needle. You are adjusting the mixture screw, not the jetting.

2. The "VFORCE 3 thingy" are your reeds. Are your filters clean?

3. Trans oil wont have any effect on the spark plugs fouling really. Get yourself a good premix (klotz, maxima, spectro, etc...) I always mix @ 32:1

1) yeah i've taken off the carbs and took off the air filter too. Air filters are clean.

2) Ah i see ok. Thanks for that. Yes they are clean.

3) I will mix at 32:1 next time. Cant find those brands here so Im sticking with yamalube 2 stroke oil.

Jetting sounds like it could maybe be a little bit leaner if its like 80-100 degrees? But i dont think thats rich enough to be fouling plugs. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Might need to rest your mixture screws?
