We just got a 2002 or something Banshee from my cousin. He says it doesnt run at all so we gave it a try. We changed the oil, gas, spark plugs, and coolant but no go! I dont believe that we are getting a spark at all. What can i do to fix this, possibly with the electrical system. Any fuses to check? Any connections? Please help

I would check the basics like your kill switch and key switch. You may have a sliced wire or a loose connection. Try to borrow a kill switch and key switch from someone before you buy it. Try replacing the key first and check for spark. If no go replace the kill switch and check for spark. Try them each seperately then together. Also check to make sure your main wire from your harness to your coil hasn't come off and that you ground is also good.

Go buy a clymer repair manual. Get a tester,(multimeter) and start testing everything they give specs for. this should help you narrow down the problem.... Have you done a compression check on it?

is the T.O.R.S system removed, if not is it working right , check to make sure the carb slides r both closing all the way with the throttle. if it is removed make sure evrthing was removed for the T.O.R.S system or you will not get spark.

First it is a 7 year old post and second, you can just unplug the TORS box under the fuel tank to eliminate the TORS system, you don't have to remove everything.

best advice is to check for spark. get an old plug or pull one from the cylinder and ground it to the engine and start kicking. If no spark then you better have some time to start testing. It could be anything and everything. I do have a few cases where I was not getting spark. It could be the woodruff key broke, the magneto crank bolt threaded out and the magneto fell off in the case. bad cdi, bad coil, bad stator. These are your most typical problems. The tors could be a problem thats why most people remove them(also to get a little extra top end). If anyone tried to replace the stator I can tell you the older bikes use the pickup coil on a postive signal and the new ones pick up a signal on the negative side(or vice versa). just swap wires on the pickup. You will need a multimeter to test everything. the only thing you cannot test is the cdi.

Do you have any info on what the bike did the last time it ran or who and what was worked on last.
