streetshee Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 hi there, but the elephant is still 500lbs,shaft drive, automatic and a fourstroke! cant think of anything worse! Quote
99Red_Roostr Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 yeah but it cost $3-4kmore than a Banshee - so add $3-4K TO THE sHEE AND $0 TO THE cow AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. 99RR Quote
Killer_Shee Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 A Banshee costs right at 6 grand and a 700 is 6500. In the math classes I partcipated in $6500-$6000=$500. Even a used 'shee shouldn't be 4k less than a new 700, unless it is a ratty POS. I guess I should have known better than to try and use some logic in a post like this--there is no point in discussing this any further. Quote
banshee#48 Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 Well,Well,Well...Now the V-force has pipes,a clutch kit etc.Maybe you need to go back and change your post where you mentioned that your V-Force is STOCK! For bracket racing, its a different story.I could see the V-force winning alot of races because consistencey counts,"But running with modified banshees and Zillas?"I think you might have jumped out there a little with that statement......And remember suckers jump up to get beat down. If you read my post, I said stock vs stock They were stock then, I didn't say anything about being stock now !! READ !! And why would I get "beat down" it's the top class, but it's still bracket racing !! I like Banshees and the KFX, can't people like more than one bike ?? Yamaha does need to get off it's ass and update the Banshee, it sucks paying 2003 prices for 1987 technology. Quote
fel0n Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 Yea i agree wit Banshee#48 Yamaha should get off their lazy asses and update the banshee. If they discontinue it im gonna be pissed and lose all respect for Yamaha. Quote
Nightrider Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 It sucks paying 2003 prices for 1987 technology The only reason Yamaha is still making the banshee is because it paid for itself a long time ago and the profit margin is huge on it.If its sale numbers would have dwindled years ago,it would have got the AXE!So be grateful that people continued to buy them. There will be no updates, because its destined for the choppin block. I ride with a KFX 700,My friend an I talked his father into getting one.At 55 years old he decided to get into ATV's,boy was he in for a surprise. He thinks its peppy right now,I told him to wait until we do the clutch work to it.If that thing had a 5-speed,I'd buy one in a minute! As far as Bracket racing goes Banshee#48,you should be kicking everyones ass,We don't do any bracket racing over here, mostly heads up for about 100-150 yds.So its hard for them to run on the top-end.The Kawie is a good machine, but the auto tranny ruined it for me. Justintoxicated Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 So its fast on flat out drag strips but what about Sand Drags up hills like Old's or china wall? Is the 700 quick enough to throw a roost and get right on top end a couple feet in front of a large hill? Just curious, cause thats the type of stuff I bought my Shee for. Quote
