More long travel questions

Ok, i have used the search function for this topic and it has given me a couple more questions in regards to me going long travel.

1) I have read that the banshee frame has limitations in regards to going long travel.  My question is if i go with a 19.25 shock over a 18.25 shock am i going to feel any difference?  How long of travel can i realistically get out of a stock frame with long travel arms?

 

2) I have been looking at long travel manufacturers (Laegers, Alba, Fireball, American Star etc) some have different shapes, all have differnt costs.  IS there a design (shape) that works better than others?
