ClayAiken Posted September 16, 2014 Report Share Posted September 16, 2014 So ive been getting a dust/dirt build up around my right side reed, i am afraid this is a air leak so im gonna pull it apart and put in new reed gaskets. I was reading my clymers and on the removal it says remove any sealer if there is any but they don't say to apply sealer on installation. I bought them off ebay and on a leak down test i could get tiny bubbles to come out of the gasket. Theses were silconed on too. The fiber will pass air. Use v force style gaskets. BTW, if you are running VF2 reeds, you need VF2 reed gaskets between the reed block and the intake boot. I also use 1211 on intake gaskets and let it set up before doing a leakdown test.
