Kmaxwell12 Posted August 9, 2014 Report Posted August 9, 2014 Hey guys got a problem. I did a few searches and came up with nothing. So the problem is I just got my new to me 1992 banshee back up and running after putting a stator on it. I tested it before installing and it all checked out good. Well I started it up and everything looked good. I took it for a short ride and my lights cut out then my left light came back on but was a violet/purple color and then went back out and neither will come back on.What would cause that? Quote
Kmaxwell12 Posted August 9, 2014 Author Report Posted August 9, 2014 Used oem stator. I'm fairly new to banshees but I know to stay away from ricky stators haha Quote
jriffe23 Posted August 9, 2014 Report Posted August 9, 2014 Hmm. Not sure what it could have been then. Quote
Starwriter Posted August 9, 2014 Report Posted August 9, 2014 Sounds like either the voltage regulator is unplugged or it's bad. Look at the silver single wire metal box under the seat next to the CDI. Make sure it's plugged in and the ground wire is under 1 of the bolts. If it's plugged in, start it up, rev it up, and check the voltage with a multimeter. Quote
Kmaxwell12 Posted August 9, 2014 Author Report Posted August 9, 2014 @MattG I'm still set up for ac power so I have no battery. I'll make sure the regulator is still hooked up and test it today. Quote
Kmaxwell12 Posted August 9, 2014 Author Report Posted August 9, 2014 Ok turns out the regulator was loosely bolted on haha so my high beams are blow but lows still work.... anyone recommend a bulb for replacement? 1 Quote

Starwriter Posted August 9, 2014 Report Posted August 9, 2014 Cool! Thanks for letting us know the outcome. I've never had to buy new bulbs, so I can't help you there. Quote
03DMshee Posted August 10, 2014 Report Posted August 10, 2014 PIAA are a great factory replacement...they also make LED direct replacement...there on ebay but there a tad salty.... My wife bought a set of halogens from Tusk and so far ao good Quote
Kmaxwell12 Posted August 10, 2014 Author Report Posted August 10, 2014 I might try the piaa's unless they are to pricey. I've heard tusk has decent products. Quote
