PTO crankshaft seal direction?

I have always put the spring to the oil side. Same with cars, truck, and banshees. Am I wrong?

There's a spring on both sides the other side is just tin and a seal it's concave so you can tell it only goes one way bolt came out nice and she's all back together now onto the top end
