I lost my idle screw yesterday and I was wondering if the idle does anything else but adjust the idle, and if it doesn't can I just cover the hole with something for now until I get a new screw and keep riding it

You'll be fine while your at it drill acouple holes in your intake boots to allow better air flow

He asked if he can cover it. Not run it open. So your asshole response was unnecessary.

Yes as long as you plug it up good you can do it. If you have room at the top adjuster you can synch your carb there.

Why would you want to run something half ass? Deal with the one week or less of down time and just order a new set

Because something as small is a missing idle screw being plugged isn't a big deal. If he had a ride planned this weekend and just wanted to know if he could do something to get through weekend, he now knows he can.

But you took the opportunity to be an asshole and offer no help. Which the simple fix is get the same thread scew, Teflon tape, screw it in.

So maybe you didn't know that, or your just a dick all the time. But he asked a question and asked for a solution. Not saying he's lost it and fuck it it's gone.

So way to come off as a dick and contribute nothing to the forum.

No problem. I don't mind being an asshole to someone that asks the same question thats been answered a 1000 times before and could have simply gotten his answer in the same amount of time as if he used the search menu instead of just adding another useless post

I don't have stock carbs.

But all the screw does is move the slide up to get the bike to idle. So now you can plug the hole with a shorter screw so it dosent hit the slide but blocks the extra air that can now enter the motor.

youre not an asshole to everyone else who does the same thing?

So do you run it with out your idle screw and does it run fine? I ordered a new one already except I do want to ride this weekend and it will take a week and a half to get here
